Dirty Slate

So, we decided to paint our room at the P house. We'd originally planned to do it the week we moved in, but with delays, sickness and the like, it never happened. The other night, rather sporadically, Heath, Willie, and I decided to give it a go. What started out as a small project has turned into a MONSTER. We've completely stripped the paint off of the windows, doors, and base boards. All three of use were blowing our noses with almost pure saw dust coming out. Dis-gust-ing. About 12 hours and three showers later, we're chilling in Heath's room to get away from the dust. The hope is that we'll finish tomorrow... but that's probably not going to happen.

ANYWAY! Being as the guys are running CAT5 across the room to hook us all up for a gigantic Age of Empires game, I decided to make another post with a couple of the more fun pictures from the past few months. So here are a few quirky things to add to the archives:

What's that? A LOBSTER CLAW GAME? Hell yes... catch a lobster and they'll cook it for free. Gotta love Vegas.

The Vegas monorail has it's own brand of water. Willie thought this was hilarious.

A bar made to look like a carousel. Oh the messages we send our children...

You can barely see it, but this skull... has a pigeon booger. Sexy.

Okay, so, this is a set of Christmas lights in Arizona that had become coated over in ice. The light still shone through, so it was very pretty. We took several pictures, but none of them really came out well.

A statue in the airport called "Dreaming of Flight." I LOVED it, so Willie took a few pictures for me.

A picture we like to call "ghost Heath" as he moved to attack Willie with a plunger. Willie earned it, though. He was waiting to like scare or attack Heath or something.

Willie in his towel with his monkey slippers and celtic cross he always wears. So cute. He sent his cross with me when I went to orientation. I suppose it's sort of a.. comfort, support symbol now.

And lastly, HOLY GRAIL ALE! Brought to you by Heath, of course. The guys say it's pretty bad, but I can't tell. All beer tastes pretty bad to me. I'm not sure if I like the smell of this one or not. I've been sick ever since they got it.

But yeah... there are some random pictures, because I'm bored and I feel like it. Anyway, I have before pictures of the room. Once we finish it, I'll post them up with the after pictures too. For now, the guys think we're going to play an AoE game, but I'm really exhausted. We'll see how it goes. Perhaps I'll even convince Willie to post soon... We'll see.

Clean Slate

I'm exhausted, but I'm in the mood to update. So what I'm going to do is sort of a... picture book drive-by telling of the past two months. First off, Christmas!

Markley Family Christmas:

Yeah... that's about how Willie spent it. =P

Though there was some of this too:

And LOTS of this:

King Family Christmas:

Hadley

Sam

The sock

Sam, my dad, and the Grand Canyon

And my mommy!

So yes, Christmas in Vegas. When we got back we were sick. Well, more specifically, I was EXTREMELY sick while Willie was mildly annoyed by his runny nose. Post-being in bed for six days with a fever of 104 we moved back to Alabama. Since getting here, we've absolutely hit the ground running as far as job hunting goes. I just got my substitute teacher's license, and Willie will hopefully have a full time position at the local bank soon. Once that's done, hopefully we'll be able to straighten out finances and do away with six months of building money stresses. With any luck, we'll also establish a fair cushion for when we both start back school full time in the fall. In honor of looking professional and the like, we both had to do a little cleaning up.

Here's Willie all dressed and pressed with his new hair cut:

I think he looks cute as hell, but he says the pictures make him look awkward. Oh yes, and I chopped off all my hair as well:

I think I look horribly awkward in those pictures... but Willie insists I'm cute as hell. ;)

Anyway, that's the quick end of it on the factual side. Most exciting part of it all are the jobs, I suppose. Jobs are good... I've missed jobs.
